Lollie, Lara and Dick Ames

Cedar Ridge Farm of Jordan, Minnesota was established more than 30 years ago by the Ames Family. They have been breeding purebred Arabian and Half-Arabian horses that have won the highest honors in both halter and performance competition at National, Regional and Scottsdale shows. The members of the Ames family who are most actively involved with the Arabian horses are Dick, Lollie, and Lara Ames.

To train and show the horses they have bred, and to provide the opportunity for others to enjoy the Arabian horse, the Ames’ created Cedar Ridge Arabians, a full service training and marketing facility also located in Jordan, Mn. The farm is beautiful and functional - it is widely regarded as one of the finest Arabian horse facilities in the United States.

In addition to their commitment to their breeding program at Cedar Ridge, Dick, Lollie, and Lara are very active members of the Arabian horse industry. They all participate in horse shows across the country and are on the boards of numerous organizational committees. They contribute to the breed both publicly and privately and they are generous supporters of many activities that support and encourage youth participation.

In February of 2008, after more than 30 years, Cedar Ridge and the Ames family were honored as the APHA, “Breeder of The Year” for their outstanding record of producing some of the finest Arabians and Half-Arabian horses in the world. However, all of this success didn’t just happen overnight.
